Restorative Dental Services
What is Restorative Dental Care?
Restorative dental care includes any procedure that is intended to repair the normal function and appearance of your smile.
When our dentists fix structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth, they can bring your smile back to where you want it to be.
Once your oral health condition has been diagnosed, your dentist can determine the right restorative treatment option for you.
Our clinic in Edmonton offers dentures, root canals, fillings, crowns, inlays and onlays to restore your smile and preserve your oral health.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth that can replace one missing tooth or several in a row (partial dentures) or a whole jaw of missing teeth (full dentures). They allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their facial structure and ability to talk and eat properly.
Root Canals
During a root canal, your dentist will remove diseased blood vessels, nerves and tissues from inside of your tooth. By getting this decay and bacteria out, your dentist prevents infection from setting in and spreading, ultimately saving the tooth from extraction.
Dental Fillings
At Westmount Dental Centre, we use composite tooth-coloured resin fillings to repair tooth damage and cavities. These fillings are made to withstand pressure from chewing, and can be used on teeth in the front and back of your mouth. The colour of the resin can be customized to match your smile.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to repair cavities if the damage is too extensive for a standard dental filling. They are custom-made in a dental laboratory as one single, solid piece moulded to fit your tooth. Your dentist then permanently cements the inlay or onlay to your tooth.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps designed to be placed over a tooth to cover it and restore its function and appearance. Crowns are often used to cover dental implants or to prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They can also be used to improve how a stained, discoloured or chipped tooth looks.
